Brighten up a winter evening — the free annual Winter Lights returns to Canary Wharf from Tuesday 20 January to Saturday 31 January 2026.
A Trail of Light, Art & Atmosphere
Set amongst Canary Wharf’s riverside docks and striking modern architecture, the festival transforms the area into a glowing trail of artworks and installations. Visitors can expect interactive light displays, immersive sculptures and surprising visual moments that merge art, technology and the winter skyline.
The 2025 edition featured everything from a towering stack of illuminated bathtubs to a 20-metre-wide sinkhole of light — and the 2026 version promises to be even more spectacular.
Why Visit & What to Know
- Free entry — open to all, simply turn up and explore.
- The festival is busiest in the evenings and at weekends, so arriving early or visiting on a weekday is recommended.
- Perfect for pairing with dinner, drinks or a winter stroll through Canary Wharf’s restaurants and riverside walkways.
- Wrap up warm, wear comfortable shoes and plan to spend some time taking in the full trail.
- A great local outing for residents and visitors looking for a unique winter experience.
Winter Lights continues to underline Canary Wharf’s reputation as not just a business district but a vibrant destination for culture, creativity and community.
As proud supporters of the Canary Wharf area, we’re always delighted to see events like this bringing residents, workers and visitors together to celebrate the season.
